LAWA has over 35 years of experience in the provision of supporting services for women survivors of gender-based violence from Latin America and other Black and Minoritised backgrounds. We are the only by and for Latin American women safe accommodation scheme in the UK and in Europe. Our Domestic Abuse Services are composed of safe accommodation, a VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) advice centre, and counselling services; we also run community and outreach activities that allow us to increase awareness of our services within the community. Our services have a holistic approach composed by practical support (further advice on immigration, housing, legal advice), and emotional support through counselling sessions. During the last year we supported 1543 women and children survivors of gender-based violence through all our services.
